Happy Birthday America!! I've always loved a good birthday celebration! Even though Nashville's Riverfront fireworks show with the Nashville Symphony is rated the #2 show in America, we decided to skip the crowd of more than 100,000 people and went to the Lipscomb fireworks show with about 800 people--more manageable!

Here are some pics from our night of fun--

What's the 4th of July without Astro pops?

Sam stood with his hands in his pockets during the National Anthem...and pretended to sing

I like to call this picture "sugar high"

Kiki and "Biggie" are back from their honeymoon and came with us tonight.

Happy 4th of July, friends!

Just wanted to let you know...those are Bomb Pops, NOT Astro pops. According to oldtimecandy.com, Astro pops have been discontinued by the manufacturer. : ) They were the yellow, green, and red rocket-shaped candy...that got stuck in your teeth. By the way...Carl's Jr., Hardees...same thing!! Love love friend!

Lauren is certainly "a great knower of things."

I'm glad you had such a great 4th! I'm right there with you on the "more manageable" thing. Love the fireworks, can't stand the crowds. Once again, people ruining a perfectly fine event for me :)

What a great pic of Sam! He looks so old and cool with his hands in his pockets. And Ella's legs look like they've added 6 inches and Maddie still looks like she models for American Girl Magizine and I'm really missing you guys today!

You too Lauren.

Come visit Stephen!!! It's been too long friend. Glad that I can provide Brandon with absolutely useless facts about random things. : ) Funny thing is that Kyle and I were talking about the actual Astro pops while watching the fireworks downtown last night. How ironic! Take care friend and bless us soon with your presence in Nashvegas!

Love that you are sporting the ACU blanket at Lipscomb!
