16 years ago tonight my father died. It was one of the most devastating, yet spiritual days of my life. Over the years I have found different ways to celebrate my father both on his birthday and on this day. Today...it was by going to the circus. Yep, I convinced Sheryl into going (see yesterday's blog). It was really fun and my dad would have loved it.
Here are some pictures from our day--
Normally, I'm not a big fan of clowns. They kinda freak me out. But this clown was as normal as a clown can possibly be.
Maddie, Ella and Sam get on board the nice camel.
The picture above kills me. Kevin took this. Anyone who knew my father would agree...the spirit of Sam Thomas was greeting us today. HA!
The elephants were awesome! And Sam was ooohing and ahhhing the whole time!
Um...have I mentioned I am terrified of heights? What was I thinking? One man rode a motorcycle (or "Bike-i-cle" as Sam called it) on the high wire. I needed medication.
It was a great day. Thanks to Mom. Kiki and Kevin for going with us. We all had a blast. We miss you Dad! Your impact lives on...

Yeah... "It" really killed the fun of clowns for me. "We all float down here..."
Looks like it was a wonderful day; I'm so glad you were able to celebrate your dad by going.
Brandon ~ How I loved your dad! I can't believe it's been 16 years. What a precious man and what legacy of fun, silliness and love he has left for you! Hugs to you sweet friend. I'm proud of you for living a life I know he is so very proud of! Sheila
