We had a wonderful show last night. The band was sounding great and the vocalists were all fantastic too. We had some sound and power issues. Welcome to our 55 year old building that was NEVER designed to do what we're doing. Phil and Scott handled it beautifully.
Tonight will be the big night. It's our last show and most all of Otter Creek waits til Sunday night to come. We also have 15 or so women from a half way house (hate that term) and some men from Room in the Inn coming. It'll be a great night.
This morning I'm making the choir be here, groggy and all, at 7:30 and serve as one huge praise team. We'll all sit on stage and lead together. Bless them. They're tired and some are sick. They're troopers. We're talking about incarnation again this morning and it's impact on our World and in our lives.

My mom gave the girls and Sam a great children's book sometime ago (it's a benefit of having a Children's Lit Specialist for a mom--we have an AWESOME library!) called If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. Last night Ella was making up songs to herself as she's prone to do. Here's what she was singing to the tune of "If You're Happy and You Know It"...
If you give a mouse a cookie then you won't...
If you give a mouse a cookie then you won't...
If you give a mouse a cookie...
THEN YOU WON'T HAVE ANY COOKIE!
If you give a mouse a cookie then you won't!
She's a funny one. Those of you who know her can imagine her squeaky little voice chiming that out to herself.
Have a great morning, blog world!

Okay here's an Ella story for you. Last night I asked her what she was asking Santa Claus for. She replied, "A baby that cries and that has a bottle..." to which I interrupted & pointing at Sam said, "Isn't that a baby that cries?". To which she replied, not even breaking her train of thought, "Yeah...and that has a pacifier and a diaper...." HA! Oh the other thing she said was that Mommy is going to have a Jo-Jo party for her birthday and somewhere in there I could have sworn that she said, "Mommy is having a baby", but I could be wrong, Right?
Sheryl is absolutely NOT having a baby. Lord help us!
Hayden loves "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" since Hayden is two - I think we have read it atleast 800 times.
other fantstic books in the series are if you give a moose a muffin and if you give a pig a pancake... love them!!!
When we were babysitting the kids on Sat night, Brandon was reprimanding Rowan for trying to steal Ella's cheerios or something. Ella was sitting there, listening in on the conversation, then swung her feet up on another chair, kicked back with her cup of water, and said to Rowan: 'You need to do what your daddy says and not take my cheerios because if you do then I'll be hurt and your daddy will be mad that you hurt me so you should do what he says.'
Yes, that Ella is a funny one.
It shout be noted that "Brandon" is Brandon Young and not me--I would have gladly given the cheerios to Rowan! :)
