Many prayers go out today for the families and friends of Virginia Tech students. Our hearts are saddened by such a loss. It makes me think of senseless violence everywhere though--not just in Virginia. Many families across our world will be affected by loss today in ways that are hard to imagine. Whether it's someone gunning down students... or men, women and children caught in the cross-fire of war, or others dying from starvation and disease...May God bring us peace.

You are God alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
You are God alone
And right now,
In the good times and bad,
You are on Your throne
You are God alone.

In some ways this reminds us of 9/11 again.

"Prayer for Virginia Tech":

Mercy of God deliver us.
Love of Christ heal us.
Spirit of God strengthen us.

Lord, have mercy on all those hurt by the horrific massacre in Virginia -- the victims, the injured, the traumatized, the grieving, the rescuers, and the healers.

Prince of Peace, grant that through your holy Cross where you suffer with all humanity, we may rise up to new life with you, to be instruments of your Peace.

Through Christ our Lord, and the intercession of Fr. Mychal Judge, "the Saint of 9/11". Amen.

Thank you Brandon, for taking time to show concern and sympathy for the Virginia Tech community. We Hokies are quite shaken, saddened and feeling a bit lost right now. I love the song lyrics :)
