Happy Birthday to my dear mother today! I am so thankful for her and the impact she has had on me, on my family, and our friends, and on the world. She has brought Children's Literature alive for so many kids and adults through the years. She survived the death of my dad. She moved from her home town area after 60+ years to a new, larger city in a new state. She's a wonderful writer. She models worship and contemplative living so well. She is a woman to be honored...and my kids are getting to have relationship with her. What a treasure! Happy Birthday, Mom!

Our rehearsal went well last night. It's hard to believe that Easter is right around the corner. It was fun to have some new folks at rehearsal too!

American Idol...well, finally! The singers have arrived. Oh my goodness. Thanks to Sheryl for taping it for me.

Tonight, thanks to our friend Amanda who works for CMT, we are getting to go to the live taping of "Crossroads". It's a show where CMT pairs two artists...usually a pop artist and a country artist. Tonight's taping is at the Ryman and should be awesome! The artists are Reba McEntire and Kelly Clarkson. Wooo-hooo!!! Thanks, Amanda!

PS: Really, REALLY excited about Lubbock! Registration is over 500 so far. Can't wait to be in TEXAS next week!!

Your mom's face reminds me of happy days in her kiddie lit class! I love reading her blog, too.

Happy birthday to your mom! She has such a sweet smile-I am sure you are so happy to have her there!

That will be an awesome Crossroads-I have connections (somewhat to both of them)-I went to school with Reba's niece in Burleson, TX in elementary school (and she also had a house there) while Kelly is also from Burleson...who would've thought we would've ever been on the map?!

Can't wait until Lubbock-it is going to rock!! :)
