We had a really fun day yesterday. We heard that the YMCA in Bellevue had an amazing indoor pool so we picked up Lauren and made the trek all the way out there to check it out. Sure enough, they were right! It's basically like the outdoor pool at Maryland Farms but inside...and better! It's a graduated...so perfect for the little ones. There are fountains, a fun whale slide for the kids, big kid/adult slides, and a cool palm tree that has coconuts that collect water until they're full and then dumps the water over the heads of those underneath the tree. There are awesome murals on the wall and great big windows to see outside.
While we were there it was snowing like crazy outside--huge, beautiful snowflakes. (Unfortunately, it didn't accumulate because the ground wasn't cold enough.) We were inside in our swimsuits acting as if we were in the middle of July...while watching the snow fall outside! SO fun! We even got to see Phil Wilson and his daughter, Kinsey. The kids all had such a blast.
This morning was "Remembrance Sunday" where we show pictures of those at Otter Creek who have died and read their names aloud. It's been a tradition at OC for many years. I was struck this morning by Shanon Dickerson's picture. It will be 5 years this year since we lost him. Shanon was in his late 20s and died of cancer. He was full of life, full of humor, full of love for Jesus and those around him. I miss him.
