We had a family birthday party for Sheryl last night. Tomorrow's her big day! We had Thai food...yum!

American Idol...what can I say? Mandisa is out, but Bucky and Ace are still in? It's craziness. Did anyone else notice a week or so ago when Madisa sang the Mary Mary song (Christian song) that Simon said, "I just didn't get that at all."

Tonight we have rehearsal from 6-8. Tomorrow night we rehearse from 6:30 til who knows when. I'm looking forward to that time with friends and the folks in the worship ministry...but I am already hearing my bed calling and it's only 2pm. That's not good.

With three kids, it seems someone's always sick. Kids or no kids...what's your best cold remedy?

I say prevention is the best policy. Never go outside, never let anyone inside.

That should prevent everything.

Brando...In answer to your question about colds...Time, Airborne (the medicine), good hydration, and lots of handwashing when you aren't sick.

However, regarding American Idol...Bucky should have been long gone, maybe even before Chicken Little... Chris and Katherine are at a whole other level...

FOR SURE! Chris is the most original artist they've ever had on AI.

I've never seen American Idol and I don't get colds. Coincidence? I think not.

BST- per our conversation. check my blog pics of my 4 kids. They are a handful. Last night- which was Mommy's night out, within one hour, Tomlyn and Lee( the identical ones in the picture) got a hold of the desitin diaper cream, and smeared it all over their carpet and walls. 30 minutes later, after cleaning mess#1, Samuel, the red-head, dropped my $30 cologn bottle on the tile floor of my bathroom- splintering into a thousand pieces- of which one ended up in my hand as I tried to clean it!! Much fun. Loved our visit....

As for AI - it is driving me crazy that Mandisa is gone...I know that Elliott is not the best vocalist but the tough stuff he has endured in life really reflects in his personable and humble spirit. Chris truly is great.

As for colds...drink tons of water when you are well and sick, loads of handwashing, vitamins everyday and chewable Zinc tablets with slippery elm can boost the immune system! And no, that is not some weird South African remedy, do not fear. Go to the health store and they will have it.
Actually, I was reading that eating apples everyday and a handful of raw almonds will boost the immune system also.

I have to agree with the zinc stuff. Whenever I feel the onset of a cold, I take two zinc tablets, and try to take them as long as I'm feeling bad. Sometimes the cold will go away. You have to be careful though, cause if you take too much zinc or if you don't eat when taking them, your stomach will not be happy.

Oh, I know a million people read this, so I'm gonna get some free ad time. I'm selling my 97 4runner for 6200. If anyone is interested (even those far away from nashville) email me at mundiejc AT gmail DOT com

Ace sucks! God Taylor!

Ed, I gotta think that was a typo!

Ace should not last any longer, with Bucky now gone. I think that Chris is the most likely to win. Katharine is quite talented, but not a pop singer - more a stage voice, IMHO. Paris is amazing, esp. for one so young. But I don't think she'll go all the way. I personally enjoy Taylor's style the most.

I'll bet that Mandisa is picked up with a Gospel recording contract.

My dad (now 70) gives Zicam the HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION for lessening the duration and severity of cold symptoms. I bought some to try the next time...

Brandon Scott said...

YES...the Zicam that works the best for me are the nasal swabs. They really do work. That and tons of water.
