Friday morning I went to an Accelerent breakfast and Ronnie Milsap was the guest speaker/singer. He did an amazing job. He told a powerful story of how his birth mother rejected him because she viewed him as a curse from God (because of his blindness). He is a living example of someone who overcomes. He sang several old classics..."Smokey Mountain Rain" (just designated a Tennessee state song by the TN House), and "What A Difference You've Made In My Life". It's amazing how you can hear a melody that completely transports you to another time and place. I was instantly at my granparents' house in Hamlin, Texas. Sweet memories.
Here's a picture of Ronnie and also of some of the beautiful trees right now in Nashville.
