Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

I love Sheryl Thomas! She is beautiful, patient, kind, funny, and deals with all my issues like a champ. What more could I ask?

Did anyone see Michael Buble on the Today Show this morning? He's my new favorite. We have his old CD. I need to go buy the new one.

I am in the bed today, mostly. Everyone else is feeling better. Praise God for Sonic and Cherry Lime Slushes. That's the true tonic for healing.

Question for the day...
What is your most memorable (special or embarrassing) Valentine's Day moment?

It's not a Valentine's Day story, but it is the story of my proposal, and written as a Valentine to my wife, check it out at my blog... hope you feel better...

Hands down my favorite V-day memory was 3rd grade. I really like Keri alot. When the class exchanged "Valentines" I gave her the biggest card in the box. I wrote, "Will you go with me...check one...yes, no, maybe." Sad, but again it was 3rd grade. She began writing while the entire class waited to see her answer. The room was filled with great anticipation as she held up a sheet in front of the whole class that said, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!" I was really embarrassed. But looking back, it's one of the funniest stories. And the spiritual application is that "God chose me in Christ, before the creation of the world." Eph. 1. I love that I'm chosen. I'm single. Very single. But I get sick of hearing of Singles Awareness Day. (SAD) No offense Justin, I know it's a joke. But the greatest love is the love of God, no doubt. Now all you married/dating folks out there, you go out tonight and enjoy your special someone. Give him or her the biggest kiss and hug. Enjoy your day. Valentine's Day really is a beautiful day to love and be loved, no doubt. If you're part of a couple, receive love and give it. If you're single, don't fret. God's got us covered. Happy Valentine's Day.

That first line should have said, LIKED Keri a lot. Haven't seen her since 3rd grade. I'm ok, really. :)

One of the most fun Valentines days was when I was single~ post ACU. I went with a group of 7 good friends (male and female) to eat. We all dressed in black. After dinner we went to the lake and spotlighted and launched water balloons people who were making out in their cars. We then bought a ton of toilet paper and wrapped the houses of our ex's. It was so fun.

My best Valetines Day ever though was the one that came the day after our newborn Kolby came home from the hospital. We spent the whole day (or was it a week)just looking at the baby! My Mom was there taking care of the house and we were snug as a bug with friends bringing us food and baby gifts! That was the happiest Valentines Day Ever!

My favorite Valentine moment was when I lived with you and you wore your Egyptian dance Fever shoes and ran down Westheimer...

I have a history of bad valentines days- this one might take the cake- Yankton, South Dakota and fifteen hours between the most beautiful woman in the world and I. But- then again, maybe there is something romantic about pining away for her... Tell her i love her, brandon!

V-Day of 1999. Chad was in grad school, we were broke after my difficult pregnancy that had required 7 hospitalizations for complications. No money to go out, so Chad made dinner and we ate by candlelight in our tiny little house with our sweet 3-week-old baby girl in her swing next to the table. It was utter bliss. There's something to be said for being poor.

It seems like something is always going on during Valentine's Day like sickness or something weird. Usually we go to the Otter Creek Valentine's Day banquet which is always a blast. This year there was swing dancing and a comedian, but we missed it because of sickness.

What I always loved about VDay was making the Valentine's mail box in elementary school. It was always so cool to go home and see the cards and candy.

Little things mean a lot. Maddie and Ella got a simple Valentine in the mail from their friend, Tess Bridgesmith. Maddie slept with it for several days. It's so fun to let people know you love them. What a great holiday!

Still sick. Slept last night propped up on two pillows with a wad of toilet paper sticking out of my nose so it wouldn't run. Disgusting.
