If some natural disaster hit Yemen and they required assistance...

If we sent them "help"--what would it be called?

And could the news anchors call it that with a straight face??

(this blog is inspired by Ella's 2 1/2 year old vocabulary and speech)

PS: Looks like many folks missed the worst of Rita. When you can, let us know how you're all doing down there.

It took me a while, but I finally got the joke! And what would happen if you set up a table & made a sign for people to come & help? What would that be called?

If you have been watching the continuing coverage by CNN and weather channel, you'll notice that they all used the same word. Hunker. I have also used it but now I can't remember if I used it before the storm or not. Whatever the case, we "hunkered" with myself, Shelby, Jennifer and our 2 dogs. Also our 2 sons Kye and Matt with his girlfriend, Jeannie. Power flickered about midnight every time lightning would strike, but it never went out. Our main concern had always been loss of power meant no water, so we filled all the bathtubs with water and 2 55 gal garbage cans. Now it is a pleasure to empty them.

Thanks for all your prayers!

We found out this morning from our neighbor in Beaumont that our house fared well. It is intact. There may be some roof damage, but intact with no windows broken.

Our neighbor works for Entergy and was just walking in his door when we called. We called just to see what would happen. We had called another neighbor and got their answering machine.

So imagine the surprise and thrill of us finding out only hours after the storm that all is well when we are in Arlington and don't know when we will be able to go home!

At least now I don't have to wonder. Praise God and thanks for the prayers.

I just wanted to thank you and Zoe for providing hope. As my husband, cat,and dog were evacuating from Houston we were listening to your new CD. The words of your songs spoke the cries of my heart. Lord, Have Mercy. And he did. We made it to my grandparent's house in Ft. WOrth after driving 24 hours. He provided gas in the middle of the night for us. He had mercy and our home in League City has been spared. Blessed be HIS name. We were in a land of suffering off I-10 watching thousands stranded with families, no gas. As my husband and I prayed and worshiped our way out of Houston, know that Zoe gave us the words that my heart was crying out.
Praise God!
