3 hours in and a few things I have learned so far...
Dropping off the mommy at the airport makes for very sad children
---however, rolling the back windows down and driving pretending you're on a roller coaster (a Mommy invention) does the trick in snapping them out of it.
When getting settled at the McDonald's outdoor playground and Maddie says "I have to go potty!" (this is after we have food on the table and shoes and socks off and in the bin)...if she tells you she can wait til after she eats..don't believe her. We had a lake of pee under our table.
--however--well, there really is no however except that I guess I am glad it was pee and not, well, you know.
Listening to Maddie and Ella sing "Here I Am To Worship" at the top of their lungs is something that makes my heart leap.
Naptime is HEAVEN.

I miss naptime. Natalie grew out of it when she was 2. I've considered holding her tight and rocking her to sleep, but when I have to hold her tight, I can't pick up the rocks. (evil grin)
God sure does have a funny way of humbling us! I just got back from the doctor's office w/my 2 kids & they were both "tooting" in the room before he walked in. What do you say? Do you address the situation or pretend it didn't happen? Thankfully it was a doctor - what if it had happened in an elevator? I shudder just thinking of all the ways my kids have yet to embarrass me! I've also had my daughter have an accident at PlayLand, but it was #2! Thankfully she was in PullUps, but the little car thing she was in reeked!!!! This potty-training thing has got me pulling my hair out! Good luck!!!!!

Brandon may not have much time to blog this weekend, so I'll answer the number of members at OC. About 700 or so. We can have attendence as high as 900 on some weekends when the college kids are in town.

I think I'm posting on the wrong thread, but I'll aplogoze and keep writing.
Your thought about church buildings is a good one. I'm in a unique posture to write about this. I grew up in an inner-city church in Houston (Impact Houston Church) that my dad planted when I was young. We were highly missional, and very cell-based.
The last church I pastored at was a cell-based church (www.ctkonline.com) that has planted 11 churches in the same area in the last 4 years -all of them growing churches. They are cell based, and try not to own any buildings.
My current church where I am the worship pastor (www.ctkbellingham.com) is a church of almost 4,000, and we meet in a huge building that keeps getting bigger.
I say all of this to get to this point. Christians need to stop thinking "either/or", and start thinking "both/and" when it comes to the issue of mega-church or cell-church. (I don't think that you are thinking this way.)
It's a dangerous trap or us to get into where we get al excited abou a way to do ministry, and in our minds, it suddenly becomes THE way. It's an interesting peice of American Christian culture.
All three churches that I mentioned above are excellent in their ministry to their commnities, and all look very, very different.
Something to chew on.
