Our dear friend, Jill Batson, took some pictures for us before we left Nashville that have become my favorite family pictures we've ever had made. Go visit her website! Jill Batson Photography

Here are some of my favorites...

Thank you, Jill! Tomorrow the kids get to meet their teachers at Sam Thomas Elementary and they will begin a brand new chapter on Monday. We're all excited!

Happy Birthday, Sheryl!

I interrupt our series for an important message to my lovely bride! Happy birthday, Sheryl! You are God's gift to me and to our family. As we talk about God's handiwork in creativity...He truly outdid Himself when He made you! You are a masterpiece! I love you!

Flowers and Centerpeices

As many of you know, my lovely wife is quite talented in many areas. Some of you may not know that beyond being an incredibly gifted singer, Sheryl is also an amazing floral designer. She does flowers for weddings and events and even just for people who want nice flowers in their home for an occasion.

She's ramping back up for Spring. Check out some of her work on her site... click HERE

Sheryl

I know for a fact that I have the best wife in the world. Look at her. What's not to love? Thing is...beyond being beautiful on the outside, Sheryl is one amazing person on the inside. There are so many qualities that I lack that she makes up for. She is like a puzzle piece that fits perfectly with me. God teaches me through her. He's transformed many areas of my heart through knowing and loving Sheryl.

Sheryl is teaching pre-school this year at Otter Creek School. She gives all day long and then comes home and gives some more. She's funny, sincere, honest, loving, compassionate, and loves her family. (And...have you HEARD her sing? It's been 18 years since I first heard that voice and I've never gotten over it.) The work of a mom is exhausting. Being a wife to someone like me is also tiring at times. :) Every day I realize more and more how blessed I am to have her in my life.

On this holiday where we celebrate those who "labor" I want to raise my glass to Sheryl. Honey, you ROCK! And to mom's everywhere...thank you for all you do!

Birthday Dinner For Sheryl

Pictured here: L-R: Anna Berry, Lauren Gingles, Jill Batson and Sheryl

Tonight we had a great birthday dinner for Sheryl at our traditional birthday party place... Casa Fiesta. Kiki and Kevin and my mom were all there too but had to leave before this pic was taken. Sweet friends...sweet night of celebrating a life that touches and changes so many others. I'm so grateful for Sheryl and the Life that emits from her heart.

Happy Birthday, Sheryl!

Happy birthday today to my lovely wife! She is a true gift to all of us. Her heart, her grace, her beauty, and her voice bless me every single day. I am grateful for such a gift. May God shower His love and mercies over her in this new year of her life.

ZOE Project Almost Complete!

Here's a picture of ZOE with Randy Gill out at First Avenue Sound in Franklin. It's been a good recording process and I am looking forward to the mixing process so I can hear everything we've done and start mixing it!

Sheryl and Randy ended up co-writing a song together. It's great too! YAY, Sheryl!!

This is a Chris Lindsey original..."We Believe". I love Chris and really appreciate his gifts. I'm so glad his song is on this project!

Team Hoyt

Amy Westerman sent us a message last night after finding a random YouTube posting of the Team Hoyt video with our (ZOE's) version of "Redeemer". The song was edited some by whomever made it but still sounds good. This YouTube video has been viewed almost 5 MILLION times. That is crazy!! Thought I would share the link with you guys...

My blogger isn't working well today and it's not letting me give you a link...but if you select and copy paste this it will take you to the video... OR, I've added a link to it under my favorite sites if you want to just click that...

Sheryl Thomas Florals

I am excited to announce the launching of Sheryl's new website! Thanks to the brilliant web design of our friend, Amy Westerman, Sheryl Thomas Florals is now up and running! http://www.sherylthomasflorals.com/

As every one of you who read this blog have witnessed, Sheryl has been creating amazing art with flowers and other things for a long time. Her event and wedding business has picked up a bit as of late. She's so gifted. Please pass the word along to your friends. She is available for weddings, conventions, corporate functions, award parties...basically anything that needs floral decor or centerpieces.

Here are some pics of some of her work...

This is a part of the large wedding arrangement that was at the front of the church for Mary Catherine Musick's wedding (Gary's daughter). Sheryl also did all the bouquets and
boutonnières as well as some wreaths, the florals for the wedding cake and centerpieces for the reception.

reception centerpiece...container was a hollowed out white pumpkin

Centerpiece--small pumpkins, lemons and limes in water

There were a couple of these--pumpkin topiary

Wedding cake florals

Sheryl designed this amazing piece that would sit at the entrance to the reception. Thanks to Cory Davis's help putting it together, it really was breath taking!

Arrangements for showers or parties

Sheryl also does corporate events...she managed the centerpiece and linens team for the Cydcor Awards show at the Nashville Convention Center last December. They decorated around 300 tables. It was a huge undertaking!

Sheryl designed and arranged these for the Emdeon "Hollywood Nights" awards party at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville.

I came home the other day and she had whipped this up for our living room from random things from our garden and yard. Sheryl is a thing of beauty and loves to create beautiful things for others. Check out her website!
